Friday Fragments, Give Me Your Best Shot and VGNO!

Mommy's Idea

I’ve been slacking on my blogging. Once the routine is broken, it is hard to get back into it, I guess that is the way it is with anything!  Click on the button if you would like to visit Mrs. 4444, and other Friday Fragmenters.

It is snowing, it has been snowing since early yesterday morning. The snow did not stick the the sidewalks and roads early in the day, but later on when the temperatures dropped and the winds picked up things started to stick. It is hard to tell how much snow we have because it is a light and blowing snow. I am ready for this one to stop anytime now, because I have to be at work at 4pm!

My birthday this week was pretty uneventful. I wanted to thank my friend Matty (he’s a IRL “neighbor”) for his wonderful shout out on his blog about my day. I still need to visit all those new folks that visited from his blog. I’ve been a bad commenter too!  I got four new followers this week, and I am sure I have Matty to thank for that.  He started a new photo blog this week…. you can check that out too!  It seems that Matty tried one of Mrs. 4444′s recipes this week and it was a hit.  I might have to try it out too.  Tara loves scalloped potatoes.

Tara will be THIRTEEN on Thursday. I feel like this is a week of “lasts” for her. The last Friday before she becomes a teen, etc.  I am SCARED to have a teenager in the house, but really I think the TEEN DRAMA started already.  Give me the strength I need to get through at least the next 6 years!  We will be having family over on Thursday night for pizza.  No big party, I just can’t do it this year!

My great nephews are coming over today for a few hours. Their mom has to work, and dad was able to make some money plowing/shoveling. It will be good for Tara to have the kids around. We will have to fit in schoolwork around them or over the weekend!e

Work is going well, I do enjoy it, some days the “getting out of the house” part is the hard part, but once I am there I enjoy the time. My feet and legs are feeling much better at the end of each night. I do have to remember to take my Aleve! I a working Fri-Sun this weekend, and then not again until Friday.

I really don’t have much else to say, my fragments are BORING, but I wanted to get back into the habit! So this is a start!

Here is my favorite photo from the week. I also posted over on my photo blog for Ruby Tuesday, but not everyone visits that blog! Photography has been a bit of an effort this week, it is hard when nothing is going on and there is no creativity going one! One day I resorted to writing BLAH on a piece of paper and taking that for my daily photo! I have not missed a day since 1/1!

Lolli @ Better in Bulk hosts GMYBS each Friday for us to showcase our favorite picture(s) of the week.

Hopefully I can come back and edit this for VGNO before I go to work, but if not ENJOY blog hopping.  Not sure I will get back here tonight after work!  Ann @ Ann Again and Again always hosts the best virtual parties!

  1. What a gorgeous picture! I'd say it was a pretty successful picture week, even if that's the only one you got! Hope Tara has a great 13th birthday this week!! My oldest turned 13 in December, and so far we're still alive!

  2. Great post. Thanks for the picture, a nice reminder of what I miss and don't miss about PA and that would be the snow and the snow. We don't get much here in WA so I miss it for a few minutes until I remember that I don't have to shovel anymore, then I don't miss it quite so much. I do feel bad for my adult kids still living back there and in Vermont.

  3. A 9 year old neighbor boy knocked on our door this morning and asked if he could shovel the driveway. He's saving money for an X-Box. We know the parents fairly well and I let him do it. I looked out and felt bad as he seemed to be getting very tired. I told him he was welcome to come in and take a break. He eventually did. I looked out and he didn't even do a path wide enough for one car, let alone two. He tried, and I felt sorry for him. Paid him well too.I am so ready for summer.A teenager! Having raised three myself and now living with another, all I can say is GOD BLESS YOU! If you weren't too offended, I would even laugh at you knowing what you have coming. I always thought the boy was much better than the girls through those years. Much less "drama' with boys.Make a big deal of her birthday. Unlike YOURS. Love the barn shot. Nice.

  4. Thirteen is definitely a milestone! Although, I think you are right about the teen drama already starting. Started for me with my daughter when she was around twelve. My son… not so much drama. Thank goodness, cause I really don't think I could do it again! Enjoy your weekend!

  5. Welcome back! It's great to hear from you :) Glad to hear the job is going well and that you're adjusting. So far, our teens have been wonderful; it doesn't have to ugly :) I think setting and keeping clear boundaries between adults and kids is the key. Good luck. The barn shot is so crisp and clean :)

  6. Happy belated Birthday Martha!!!Sorry I was late.I love that barn picture!…and I hope you enjoy Tara's birthday party! Gosh Sweet-13 huh??p.s., you were a teen once… did your parent's dread that? I wonder if mine did… LOL!
