Friday, is not really Friday for me again this week! It is “Wednesday”, hump day, the hump of a seven day work week! Yeah me. Counting down until five days off!
My friend “Luna” in Luxembourg posted this quote this morning, I don’t recall hearing it before. (That doesn’t mean I haven’t.) I wanted to share it here too!
“The talent for being happy is appreciating
and liking what you have,
instead of what you don’t have.”
*Woody Allen*
The weather still sucks, but it is rather nice out this morning. I wish I had time to sit outside with my coffee and enjoy the below 70 degree weather!
The “FOURTH” for us was quiet. I worked, I came home, made Morning Star burgers for dinner, and we celebrated my mom’s birthday with Red Velvet Cupcakes.
Tara and I have had “old” movie night this week! We watched Pirates of the Caribbean and Harry Potter (the 2nd one). We used to enjoy movie days/nights together. It does not happen as often now. Sometimes I miss those old times. Each stage of your kids life has things you wish you could move out of, and things that you miss when they are gone. I don’t know why summer makes me nostalgic, way more than other seasons. I guess e because they are more carefree!
I saw a butterfly yesterday when I got home. A type I had not seen around here before. Luckily I had my camera, with the longer lens, or I would not have gotten a picture. It did not sit still for very long, and flitted away at the slightest movement. I felt like it was a message or sign from some one? When I went back out to the car an hour later to take Tara to her base lesson, it was still flitting around the same area… the parking lot.
Simple things really make my day. You have to slow down to notice them though!
Feeling Beachie posts four questions every Friday for us to answer! Share you answers and “hop” around and visits other bloggers too! Friday Fun!
1. I ♥ to wear flip flops.
2. I have had a lot of happy times in my life!
3. Public speaking makes me nauseous.
4. My car always has straw wrappers all over because my daughter never takes her trash out of the car.
Gotta run…. gonna be late for work!
Make it a great day and THANKS A-LATTE for stopping by!
Martha

That picture of flip flops proves you’re my kinda gal!
LOVE me some flip flops – - – own a bazillion pairs. (Well, maybe not quite a bazillion)
Flip-flops are one of man’s greatest inventions, IMO.
LOVE the butterfly pic – we have butterflies in our area but I’ve never seen one with blue. Absolutely gorgeous!
Have a blessed weekend!
Love that quote – so, so true. Great flip flop pic!
Hope your “Wednesday” is a good one!
Oh, crop in close on that butterfly! I love that electric blue on the wings.
Red Velvet cupcakes for the Fourth, good idea. Tasty too. I was going to make firecracker cookies, but the heat was against me turning on the oven…
Flip Flops hurt my toes, everyone loves them and they seem so easy. I hope you made it to work on time!
Have a great weekend!!
I have also used the phrase “Stop and smell the roses” and I really love rainbows. Thanks for reminding us.
Love the flip flops! I’d wear them everyday all year round too……if we didn’t have snow for 7 months. beautiful butterfly and flowers!
Great pictures – love the flowers! and flip flops are the best!
Those red velvet cupcakes looked good.
Love the picture of the butterfly. I’ve been trying to get a picture of at least one of the ones flitting around here… no such luck. Love the flip flop picture… I live in them.
I also love to wear my flip flops! I have a million pairs.
