Frying Friday!

Hey there!

It’s been a while.

I haven’t blogged in a week, either my photo blog or here. I’ve got lots of pictures to share, just not the ambition to sit down and create the posts!

I just wasn’t feeling it when I got home from work.

It’s Friday, and like last Friday, I will be headed to Camden, NJ with a car load of teens to drop them off at a concert. Mayhem Fest. Slayer, Asking Alexandria, The Devil Wears Prada and more. The girls are most specifically going for their British loves, Asking Alexandria! They asked if they can kidnap them if I would mind if they lived with us! LOL! Teen age girls are silly! This is the last concert for a while (I HOPE!) Reminds me, I guess I better remember to bring the tickets of which I am in possession!

Tara and Caleb Shomo of Attack Attack. This was the second time she got to meet him!

Myself, I am not sure what I will do. Last week I spent a few hours in the aquarium.I met up with my niece and her family. We were celebrating Gavin’s 11th birthday. It was fun.

I love this stingray!

I felt like I was in stroller hell! Too many strollers for me! Is it me, or are strollers getting bigger? I compare it with the age of SUVs. The bigger the better, a status symbol for parents with small children! I get the need for them, the comfort, the ease of navigation, but some places are just not open enough for such things!

Last week was cloudy and cooler, albiet still HUMID! Today in the 90s and of course HUMID. I hope to ride the RiverLink Ferry from Camden to Penns Landing in Philly, just for something different to do. Camden has very little to offer aside from the aquarium and the Battleship NJ. I’ve done the aquarium, and have no desire to visit the ship. I’ve been on ships like that before and felt very claustrophobic!

I have more than a few hours to kill! I don’t have a problem with the teens going to the concert by themselves, but I am not totally comfort driving the 30 miles back home while they are there. I prefer to be in closer proximity in case something would happen. Being 10-15 minutes away is better than 1+ hours.

Not only am I headed off to Camden today, but this starts another 5 day break from work. Another mini staycation. Today Camden and Monday Ocean City, NJ. So I guess you can so, I’m going to New Jersey on my vacation LOL! My brother and his family are in OCNJ for their vacation and we will head down for the day Monday to visit with them. Tara, Tyler, Tara’s friend Viki, mom and myself. It will either be a great time or a nightmare! Last time we tried this for a day Tara had a friend who started getting sick before we even hit Philly, traffic was nightmare, and we came back home before we even went on the boardwalk.  I am hoping this is a MUCH better day!

My great nephew Tyler is staying with us for a while. He is splitting his time between a few family members. He is hoping to be accepted into the Job Corps program. Keeping our fingers crossed for his August 1st interview!

I am sure there are more things to tell you from the past week, but I keep getting side tracked doing other stuff here on the computer. I really need to get myself moving and ready to go in the next 1 1/2 hours! I have to admit that I am not totally looking forward to today. It is going to be TOO HOT to be hanging outside for hours! I am hoping that I have better access to the internet, etc on my IPhone today. It was really bad last week. Too many people all trying to tweet, message, call etc. I felt so cut off from the world when I couldn’t even tweet!

  1. It is miserably hot here in North Carolina too. It was near 100 degrees of humid heat yesterday and today doesn’t look much better.

Love the stingray pic. I’ve had the pleasure of swimming with them twice at Stingray City in Grand Cayman and have loved them every since. ;)

  2. Cool looking stingray. I didn’t know a Leopard skin type existed. Almost – sorta – tacky looking. Like wearing Leopard print clothes when you should not. If you happen to be a big fan of Leopard print please accept my apology.
