Song-ography – One is The Loneliest Number

“One is the Loneliest Number”

“One is the loneliest number that you’ll ever do.”
-Three Dog Night

I guess I’ve been a “!” for so long that I don’t really think of it being a lonely number.

I was the youngest of four kids…my siblings 10 years+ older than me, so it was kind of like being an only child. I spent a lot of time alone.

I have never really minded being alone. I like spending time with myself. Even now I relish every moment of time when I am home ALONE!

Tara is a “1” too…. an only child, she has not yet embraced loving the ONENESS!

She might be an only but she's got the looks of a "10"

She might be an only but she’s got the looks of a “10”

One Spring Daffodil - I am anxiously awaiting ours to bloom

One Spring Daffodil – I am anxiously awaiting ours to bloom

Who knew I would have so much trouble finding pictures of only ONE.

Visit You’ll Shoot Your Eye Out, she’s another Philly girl!

  1. I had siblings 3 brothers but I was the “only” girl so I could relate a little. Your daffodil is lovely. I’ve got some blooming and many waiting to bloom but rain is now on the way.

I am a ‘one’ also and like you was always happy being on my own… Finding my now husband changed that a bit but I will admit that I still love being on my own

I was an “only” and rather enjoyed it. As an adult I treasure the days I can spend time alone and do whatever I wish.

  4. I am fine with choosing to be alone, but it can get lonely sometimes…like holidays. (My husband is a trucker.)

  5. IntenseGuy says:

I’m alone most of the time too.

Only on cold dark winter nights does it bother me much.

Okay, can I tell u how envious I am that your daughter doesn’t mind being featured on your blog! My 16 year old would disown me (not that I let that stop me, haha). I’m with you tho…I absolutely relish my “one” time. I think lonely is a state of mind. You can be lonely even in the midst of a crowd. Thanks for joining in at Song-ography.

LOL Kathy, she does not much like when I use photos of her, especially those that I take. This one however is a “Selfie” she took one day, when she was doing a photo shoot of herself and one of our cats. I think I took and posted too many pictures of her when we lived near Disney….now she hates it!

oh your daughter sure does look like a fun soul!! when i am alone (which is not too often) i never feel lonely!!

i am waiting patiently for my daffodils to bloom!!

  8. Oneness in your household seems to be a good thing. I really think that may be true in many households. The song speaks of a sadder, more melancholy one. I think I like your version much better …

  9. Clearly oneness in your household is a good thing. I think that is probably true in most households, but the song really speaks of a sadder more meloncholy “one”. I have to say, I like your version much better.

These are great images for the number one! Your daughter is so beautiful and looks like she’s a lot of fun 🙂

There is a big difference between being one and being alone to be sure. Fun picture of Tara.

  12. Tamar says:

My sister is 7.5 years my senior, I too often felt like an only child!
