Clean up in Aisle Four and other randomness

I was already on my last drops of energy at work today(Monday), trying to get all the little things ‘tied’ up before my five days off. (Yes, there is more to my job than just selling cosmetics at Walgreens!)
Suddenly,  I heard a CRASH come from the back of the store, where I had been working on some merchandising. WTF? when through my mind and I headed back to check it out. I found a MESS on the floor a shelf had slipped out of place and three 33 oz bottles of hand sanitizer had fallen to the floor and split open! WHAT A MESS! Have you ever tried cleaning up hand sanitizer from a tile floor?

It is not easy. To top it off I commit the ultimate fashion faux pas every day and wear CROCS to work. CROCS + Tile Floor + slippery mess = Martha almost doing a split worthy of the Olympics.  I was in quite a pickle, holding a dripping bottle of hand sanitizer, stuck in the middle the equivalent to a waterless slip and slide, and I can’t yell (I have a paralyzed vocal cord). Thankfully one of my co-workers was not too far away and came to my rescue. We had to use this Spill King product that looks like artificial snow to soak it up! Oy, what a mess it was!

So how was your Monday?

I was never so glad for 4pm to arrive. The last few hours seemed to drag. I just wanted my vacation time to begin!

Tonight I have three teenagers who are hyped on “band boy” adreneline, excited for a concert tomorrow. I still do not know what I am going to do to kill time, although it is an 45 min to an hour home, I might just make the trip back home. I have a few other options I am mulling over! They are going to the Scream It Like You Mean it concert at the Croc Rock in Allentown. One of the girls is a last minute addition. Two of them have “VIP” tickets which gets them an hour meet and greet with band members and some special “merch”. They are really excited to meet some of the “boys” that they are “in love” with! (Hey, I say better to have a crush on an unavailable band member than a 15 yr old boy that will break your heart! LOL….. there is plenty of time for “real boys”!)

We did not get to see Magic Mike. It probably will be on the vacation agenda this week! As is grocery shopping, hopefully a trip to the shore, and some other photography outings! I have quite a few vacation days scheduled over the next month. It is time to add a little fun to this summer!

We had a pretty awesome storm the other night when I was working. When I am at home, I am pretty much under tree cover, so it is hard to see approaching storms and lightning. At work we have a pretty good view of the western sky…. except for the new buildings that are under construction. As soon as I see a storm moving in I start checking out the clouds. It got black, and windy and then the lightning started. It was pretty spectacular. I even captured (not well) some lightning bolts with my IPhone. I’ve got the “bug” now and want another storm so I can try again!

Darn street light!

This one would have been better if I hadn’t moved! I actually think a wind gust caught me off balance!

The sky was really beautiful after the storm!

When I go back to work I get to incorporate all the new cosmetic products into the “COS Wall”. It is a twice a year task, that most are intimidated by, but I LOVE! What I don’t understand is how many different kinds of mascara and foundation one company needs to offer. Over the 2 1/2 years I have been at Walgreens, many of the ‘newer’ products seem to be dropped from our inventory, while the old stand bys remain!

Well, I think I’m going to go join my pillow in bed. I am sure I will be up at my normal time in the morning, but the difference is I can make a cup of coffee and head out to the patio and watch the birds and squirrels, no place to go until early afternoon!

It is Tuesday morning and I actually stayed in bed until  8:15am woo hoo!

I was just working on my calendar and I realized I will have worked 17 days in July, with 14 days off. Six extra days off this month woo hoo!

I still have no idea what I am going to do today. I was hoping I would wake up and some bizarre “cold” front moved through and it was only going to be 75 degrees today! I definitely would find a park or something and spend part of the time outside. Girls need to be there by 2:00, actual concert starts at 4:00, and I bet it goes until at least 9:00pm. I better get searching on line, and there is always window shopping at Lehigh Valley Mall!

I promise I will be making visits this week! No excuses! I love visiting blog friends and new aquaintances over my morning coffee!
